The Department of Statistics at the University of British Columbia (UBC) is hosting a Girls in Data Science Camp this summer.

This camp is designed for students in Grade 8-12 who identify as girls or other gender minorities. Throughout the camp, participants will explore various topics in data science and statistics, guided by experienced mentors in the field.
Topics include:
- Introduction to data science, basics of Jupyter and R, data wrangling and data visualization
- Measures of central tendency and spread, statistical inference and sampling, observational studies vs. experiments
- Machine learning fundamentals, answering predictive questions (regression, classification)
